Is your agency actually any good?
Four minutes. An honest score. If they’re great, we’ll tell you to stay.Quick taps about what you pay, what you get, what you own and what you see. We score your agency out of 100 on the stuff that actually protects you — and show our working.
No login. No sales call. Your agency never sees it.
Most agency audits are built to find problems. This one’s built to tell the truth.
Great agencies score great.
If your agency is doing right by you, you’ll see it in black and white — and we’ll tell you to stick with them. We mean it.
Facts, not vibes.
Most questions are things you can check in two minutes: who owns the account, what’s on the invoice, what’s in the report. Where it’s a gut call, we say so.
Price alone never costs points.
Expensive isn’t bad. Unclear is. We score whether you can see what you pay for and whether it’s working — not whether it’s cheap.
Only what applies to you.
Don’t run ads? No ad questions. Only been with them three months? We won’t mark them down on results yet.
Let’s see how they’re doing.
Ready when you are.
Six short steps. Answer for how things are now, not how they were meant to be. “Not sure” is always an option, and it’s never a fail.
- The basics
- The money
- What you own
- Reporting
- Results
- Working together
No black box. Here’s exactly how it works.
- Every answer earns points based on what a good agency should be doing. The points for each answer are fixed — they’re the same for everyone.
- “Not sure” is never a fail. It earns part marks and comes with a two-minute way to check.
- A few gaps are too serious to average away: no access to an account you pay for, not being able to see what reached the ad platforms, the agency owning your work, or not being able to leave with your stuff. One of these caps the score at 84. Two or more cap it at 69.
- Questions that don’t apply to you are skipped, and their weight is shared across the rest. No ads? Ad questions don’t count.
- With your agency less than six months? “Too early to tell” on results doesn’t count against them.
- We don’t score how big your fee is. We show how it compares with published Australian price ranges, for context only.
- Being honest about our own side: we’re an agency too, and this is how we meet people. That’s exactly why the scoring is public.
- The score is only as good as your answers. It’s a guide, not an audit — but every finding is something you can check yourself.
Fair questions.
Isn’t this just a sales funnel for lemonlolly?
Partly, and we’d rather say so. It’s how we meet businesses that might need us. But it only works if it’s honest: if your agency scores well, your result tells you to stay, and we won’t try to talk you out of it.
Will my agency find out?
No. We never contact agencies, and we never publish names or scores. The agency name field is optional.
What happens to my answers?
Your score shows on screen straight away. If you unlock the full breakdown, your answers and score come to the lemonlolly team so we can follow up if you asked us to. We don’t sell or share them, and you only get marketing emails if you tick that box.
Why does ownership count for so much?
Because it’s the one problem you can’t fix after the fact. Lose access to an ad account, a domain or a Google Business Profile and you can lose years of data, history and reviews. Almost everything else can be fixed with a conversation.
My agency is a freelancer. Does it still work?
Yes. Everything here applies to anyone you pay to run your marketing.
I don’t have an agency yet. Can I use it?
Yes — as a checklist. Every question is something to get in writing before you sign with anyone. Including us.
We scored low. Now what?
Start with your “Fix first” list. Most of it is a polite email to your agency, and we give you the wording. Give them a fair go at fixing it. If they won’t, that tells you what you need to know.
